Description
This commissioned item is an alternate boiler for the Dapol N Gauge ‘Britannia’, designed as a scratch aid to help recreate the BR Standard Six ‘Clan’ class. While intended to be as close a fit as possible some fettling and filling may be required. There may also be some small filling required at the cab sides owing to the slightly different firebox shape. Holes are provided for Dapol fittings (such as regulator), which may require slight modification to match the prototype – handrails for example being shorter at the front and right-hand rear. The smaller diameter boiler also means that the Dapol weights will likely need replacing with lead strip.
