Description
This is a 00 scale model of a Liverpool & Manchester Railway ‘Northumbrian’ class locomotive – the developmental link between ‘Rocket’ and ‘Planet’ and the first commercial class to operate this important railway. This scratch aid enables an unpowered free-rolling model engine that, combined with a motorised truck (separately available), will enable a fully working ‘Era I’ train.
Necessary to Complete:
Driving wheels (20mm diameter including flange; c.19mm without)
Trailing wheels (12mm diameter including flange; c.11mm without)
(These all appear on the current Alan Gibson catalogue)
Wire for slide bars – holes for these are marked and can be made like the N Gauge variant (see video below)
Coupling rods (various lengths are available via Alan Gibson which could be adjusted or these can be scratchbuilt from wire as in the N video).
Loco-tender coupling
