Description
This is an 00 Gauge model of ‘Rom River’, the first standard-gauge diesel built in Britain. Designed by Kerr Stuart and completed in 1929 she originally worked at a Quarry on the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway and today is preserved on the Foxfield Railway.
Due to its short wheelbase it is unpowered, but can be ‘motorised’ by coupling to a powered truck (separately available). The unpowered chassis is a separate part though should a scratch-built mechanism be preferred.
Necessary to Complete:
• Wheels – (15mm including flanges eg Hornby wagon wheels R8098)
• Screw-fit coupling (best to just glue/pin – mounting point included on the tender):

• Weight
Optional additional details to scratchbuild (at the builder’s discretion):
• Wire handrails (locating points included)
• Coupling hooks
• Crew
