00 Scale SDR Derwent Scratch Aid

Description

This is a 00 scale model of the Stockton & Darlington Railway locomotive ‘Derwent’.  Built in 1845 to the ‘Tory’ class design of Timothy Hackworth, it operated commercially until 1898, last steaming as a preserved engine in 1925.  Today it is displayed at the Darlington Railway Centre and Museum.
 
Included are bespoke pre-gauged and quartered ‘plug’ wheels but if a spoked wheel version is wanted, the model can similarly accept Alan Gibson 16mm (scale 4-foot) driving wheels with 3mm axles (not including flange).

Necessary to Complete:
• Slide bars – holes for these are marked and can be made of wire with a system like the N Gauge variant (see video).  3D-printed dummy slide bars are also provided to be fitted over the top of the operational wire slide bars to complete the look of the engine.
• Coupling rods 18.7mm from pin centre to pin centre (various lengths are available via Alan Gibson which could be adjusted or these can be scratchbuilt to suit). 
• Loco-tender coupling x2
