00 Scale Invicta Loco Scratch Aid (V1 Original)

Designed by Robert Stephenson, Invicta was the first locomotive on the Canterbury & Whitstable Railway

Description

Designed by Robert Stephenson, Invicta was the first locomotive on the Canterbury & Whitstable Railway.ย  As the next engine built by Robert after his iconic Rocket, many developments from the Rainhill winner can be seen in Invictaโ€™s original form, although in 1836 the engine was substantially rebuilt resulting in a noticeably different shape (also available in model form).ย  Invicta became the first ever preserved locomotive when acquired by the South Eastern Railway in the 1840s and today can be found in Whitstable Museum.ย
ย
This model is of Invictaโ€™s original form with two-wheel tender. ย Due to its size it is unpowered, but can be โ€˜motorisedโ€™ by coupling to a powered truck (separately available).ย
