This is a 00 scale model of the 1830s Robert Stephenson ‘Patentee’ class locomotive. A 2-2-2 enlargement on his ‘Planet’ class (also available), these engines were used across Europe, many being the first locomotive used in several countries. Consequently this model, while in its British form, can also be used as a basis for building:
Adler – Germany’s first locomotive
Bayard – Italy’s first locomotive
De Arend – the Netherland’s first locomotive (although technically built to a different gauge)
