00 Scale Listowel Lartigue Locomotive

Description

This commissioned item is of one of the Listowel and Ballybunion Railway’s twin-boilered monorail Hunslet tender locomotives in original as-built condition, complete with a rendition of its auxiliary power tender. Presented as a static model the wheels are, however, free-rolling enabling motorising if desired (a mechanism – likely in a coach – would have to be created by the builder). Also available are matching rolling stock, wheels and sleepers creating a complete train.

Necessary to Complete:

• Sleepers (3D print, available separately)

• Axles (1mm wire such as a from a large paperclip is ideal; 9.2mm long) NB wheels should be drilled out to ensure a loose fit.

• Styrene strips (1mm thick, 4.5mm wide; used to keep the axles in place)
Optional additional details to scratchbuild (at the builder’s discretion; please see images for locations):

• Brake pipes (x2; locating holes provided)

• Tender funnels (x2; locating holes provided)

• Support stanchions and cab brake piping (holes provided in the roof to slot these into position)

• Handbrake handle

• Reverser lever and rod

• Regulator handle (x2) and rod (Note: some holes may need drilling out)

• Safety valves

• Brake reservoir piping (x2)

• Cab support wires

• Sander rod

• Sander support bracket

• Couplings (the method used is at the builder’s discretion)

• Tender water filler pipe

• Coal and crew
