Designed by James McConnell of Wolverton Works, the ‘Bloomer’ class 2-2-2 singles were an icon of the LNWR’s southern division, one gaining a world speed record of 57.2mph in 1962 during the ‘Trent Affair’. With most built in the 1850s several versions were built, this being the Ramsbottom rebuild of the ‘small’ type. An unpowered free-rolling model engine (complete with driving wheels), coupled to the various motorised coaches/trucks also available a fully working ‘Era 1’ N Gauge train can be created.
Necessary to Complete:
Graham Farish Royal Scot bogie wheels (large version x2, available as spares)
Graham Farish wagon wheels (x3)
Loco-tender couplings (the method used is at the builder’s discretion)
Weight (the boiler is hollow)
(NB small strips of styrene will hold the driving wheels in place)
