February new releases!
Welcome back everyone! It’s time for the main February releases, and this month we have some fantastic kits from Small Loco Works and Newman Miniatures!
This set of releases also pushes us to over 100 kits available through Oak Hill Works, when I launched properly back in November 2023 with just 11 kits getting to this sort of size was well beyond what I thought would ever happen, never mind this quickly. Long may the growth continue!!
With that out of the way let’s have a look at this months releases.
Firstly from Small Loco Works we have:
009 Gauge Penrhyn saloon coach Kit

This coach was used by Lord Penrhyn and his family, quarry officials and visitors and is believed to have been built around 1882.
009 Gauge Ffestiniog Railway single bolster

009 gauge Ffestiniog Railway single bolster to the same design as waggons 73 and 76 as preserved.
00 Gauge North Eastern Railway Diagram P4 wagon

These wagons were built by the NER from 1902, some still survive in preservation to this day.
and now we have some new releases from Newman Miniatures
00 Scale Freelance Rail Traction Engine

One of the more unusual commissions (if rather fun!), this model is based on the Coed Talon Colliery Locomotive โExpressโ โ a home-made amalgam of coal truck and portable engine.
00 Scale 1830s Patentee Loco Scratch Aid

This is a 00 scale model of the 1830s Robert Stephenson โPatenteeโ class locomotive. A 2-2-2 enlargement on his โPlanetโ class (also available), these engines were used across Europe, many being the first locomotive used in several countries
00 Scale LNWR Crampton Scratch Aid

This is a 00 Scale model of the LNWR Crampton locomotive โLiverpoolโ โ in her day claimed to be the most powerful engine in the world.
Finally we have a nice set of kits that all go together to create a rather unique railway network, The Listowel and Ballybunion Railway in 4mm scale!

00 Scale Listowel Lartigue Locomotive

This commissioned item is of one of the Listowel and Ballybunion Railwayโs twin-boilered monorail Hunslet tender locomotives in original as-built condition, complete with a rendition of its auxiliary power tender.
00 Scale Listowel Lartigue Coach and Mobile Steps

This commissioned set provides one of the lineโs 1st/3rd mixed coaches and one of their mobile steps to enable passengers to cross the line.
00 Scale Listowel Lartigue Brake Coach

This commissioned model is of one of the lineโs 1st/3rd brake coaches.
00 Scale Listowel Lartigue Track

This commissioned model provides sleepers for the various items of Lartigue monorail rolling stock available in 00 Scale.
and with that our February releases are done, you all know you want to buy a monorail set, it’ll put your layout on the map!
Thanks for popping by everyone, I’ve already got some more new releases on their way, will we get a 3rd new announcement this month? That’ll help make up for when I go 3 months without releasing anything right?

Particular interest in pre-grouping railways and industrial based in South Wales. I have already spotted a couple of locos of interest which require some research at my end.
