Description
Designed by OVS Bulleid after leaving British Railways (and his Leader project), CIÉ No. CC1 was an experimental Irish articulated steam engine designed to use turf as fuel. The last steam engine built for Irish railways, 1957, the design made advances from Leader and proved moderately successful even with some efficiency and visibility issues. Nonetheless, Bulleid’s retirement in 1958 saw the end of the trials, CCI being withdrawn and scrapped by 1963.
This scratch aid provides the locomotive’s body and bogie sides, however, it is only intended as a scratch aid: a chassis will have to be sourced/created by the builder.
